H+M is the biggest buyer in the world or organic cotton and is aiming to use only ethically produced cotton by the end of 2020. They offer a clothing recycling program where shoppers can bring in their used clothing for recycling and receive a discount voucher. It has also stopped selling mohair, exotic skins and angora after appeals from animal rights organization PETA and all of their sister brands (Arket, COS, & Other Stories, Monki, and Cheap Monday) are fur free. They have previously launched collections using vegan pineapple leather and orange silk (https://www.plantbasednews.org/lifestyle/h-m-collection-vegan-pineappple-leather-orange-silk). In March 2020 they will launch a vegan alternative to leather made from Vegea, the byproducts of wine.
